If you ever felt your Wii was destined to remain a "Kids Only" console, This news may shine a beacon of light in the sea of mediocre titles. Dead Space: Extraction has recently been announced by EA. And in a odd move, This installment will be made for the Nintendo cash machine dubbed the Wii.
Fans of the Dead Space Universe can relax, this will not be a port - it's actually a prequel to Dead Space and takes place the days before Isaac even arrives on the scene. Extraction features a new story, characters, mechanics and is created specifically for the Wii. And to further put the fans mind to ease, A good percentage of the original staff will be working on Dead Space: Extraction. So at this point in time.. It looks like the franchise will not be ultimately butchered for the sake of a quick Wii game sales.
Now in the sake of continuity, I hope the dev team really take a look at the Comic (print or animated) and the feature movie Dead Space: Downfall. Since there is already a few points of inconsistencies present. But that will be for a future article.
