News 360 News Dead Rising 2 Rumors/Video

Recently there has been a buzz over the internet of the much anticipated sequel to Dead Rising. Ranging from a potential "mistranslation" from one of the most recent Famitsu Magazine's rumor segments, "Leaked" information that developer Blue Castle Games will be working on the sequel.  Despite the source, or the extent of the sheer number of rumors, Capcom continues to hold to there guns/scripts  "There has been no official announcement of a sequel to Dead Rising,".  It's not as if any of previous internet rumors have been proven true in the past year or so..

But things have gotten a tad bit more interesting, as there seems to be a "leaked trailer" floating on YouTube..  One that involves a casino, tons of zombies, and a dude dressed up as Mega Man.  Oh yea, to top it all off.. The beginning of the trailer contains a big ol' Capcom logo.

To play devils advocate here, Its not exactly rocket science to whip up a fake trailer and try to pass it off as the real thing.  And "if" this is in fact, a fake trailer.. It would be in my personal top 10 best forgeries ever.  However a few things stand out that might cause one to believe in the validity, Below are some things you might want to keep an eye/ear out for while checking the trailer.

  • Timestamp 0:25 (Audio/Video)
We are introduced to an Anti-Zombie drug called Zombrex
  • Timestamp 0:32 (Video)
We can see some documentation about "Ampulex compressa", A particular wasp that appears to have a tendency to plant "eggs" into/onto a living host. I'm not 100% sure if the particular species of wasp was named in Dead Rising.. but the behaviour exhibited by this particular wasp, follows closely to how the wasps in the game was able to spread the zombie infection.  They even have been known to put there prey into a "zombie" state.
  • Timestamp 0:42 (Video)
Someone is either a very big Mega Man fan and going to a cosplay convention.  Or we once again see the blue bombers uniform being used to fight the legion of the undead.
  • Timestamp 0:46 (Audio)
You can hear something in regards to "in the blood stream, First discovered by Isabella Keyes".  Could Zombrex be the results from Isabella's attempts to cure Frank West from the infection?

There was no viewable recognizable footage of Frank in the trailer.  So speculation on whether or not he will return in the sequel will most likely fill the minds of the fans (and haunt the various forums).  But at the very least, these rumors have once again caused people to talk about Dead Rising once again (aside from the upcoming Wii version). And despite the headaches of all these rumors poping up, this should at least bring a smile to Capcom's face.
